The Webcam also shows me, that what used to be the car park, has been excavated and now contains something that looks like an ancient swimming pool, with no water in it. There is a set of stone steps at each end and people descend into this pit before wandering around apparently aimlessly, for a minute or so, before ascending again to street level to carry on with their lives. Curios, I search the web using ‘Google’, which tells me that this excavation has been done to expose part of an original Roman road. Isabelle still takes care of the house in Frasquenet. We exchange Christmas cards. Using Google Earth I can see some repairs have been done to the roof tiles, and the village has some new houses on its outskirts. The Languedoc still calls, but whether I will return to retire there, or settle permanently in Asia, I am still undecided. page 136 Copyright Frasquenet.com |
